Pavẽ was born November 25, 2001. In March of 2002 I had the opportunity to travel to England with my dad and his wife. Along the way we met my brother Louie who lived in Italy at the time. We vacationed together before heading to my final destination to pick up our puppy from Lorraine Marchant, Starborough. She called her "Pru". It was love at first sight. The Marchants graciously, let me stay with them for a week. It was my first trip to England and it was indeed a time I will cherish forever, not only because I got to know Lorraine and George who have become very special friends, but I was also able to bring back two lovely borzoi, our Pavẽ and her brother, Legend (Starborough Dimitri) owned by Kristi Arnquist.

Thanks to Vicky Bloemer for restoring Pave's and Ioury's puppy pictures.
Pavẽ began her show career by taking BOS in sweepstakes at the Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Club, her first show in June of 2002. Her first show as an adult in January 2003, she took WB and BOW for 2 points. In January 2004 at that very same show she took her first 3 pt major. Pavẽ is a tall, very elegant bitch who needed maturity. I had made the decision to show her outside in summer of 2004 and she did not disappoint me. At the Michana Kennel Club show June of 2004 she took WB, BOW, BOB for her second major. From that day forward we never looked back. Pavẽ took WB at 5 consecutive shows to acquire her championship. She is the third Starborough champion borzoi in this country, along with Ch Starborough Simeon & Ch Starborough Tansy.

Pavẽ's parents are Hepi Hepri Liman at Manitias X Ch Starborough Fait Accompl.

Thanks to Sherry Galante for providing many of Pave's photos.

Ioury Kalinow was born on August 18, 2003. I was given the opportunity to bring this lovely borzoi puppy back to the United States in November of 2003. I, along with Susan Motisi who acquired Iskra, (Ioury's sister) traveled to Germany together to pick up our puppies from Robert & Silvia Kalinowski, Kalinow Kennel and visit with my good friend Danuta Freiherr. Lorraine Marchant who bred the dam to these puppies (Ch Starborough Fait Accompli) joined us for a few days. Danuta was a wonderful host, welcoming us all into her beautiful home. This was my first trip to Germany and it is one I will always remember, seeing the beautiful German countryside, spending time with old friends and meeting new ones, Robert and Silvia.
Ioury was shown as a young puppy only a few times. At the Centennial National in 2004, his second show, he took 4th place in a very large 6-9 puppy class. He was not shown again until June of 2004. At the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club show following the Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Specialty Ioury took RWD from the 9-12 puppy class and Best Puppy handled by Amelia Gredys. The following day Ioury and I were awarded BOS in Sweepstakes.
Although Ioury has not been shown often as an adult, having to compete from the open class after 18 months of age, he continues to do well, placing 3rd at the Midwest Borzoi Club specialty in March of 2005, and placing 4th at the National in 2005. The day following the Greater Twin Cities Borzoi Club specialty, June 2005, Ioury was awarded his first 4 pt major. His second 4 pt major was a thrill taking WD at the Midwest Borzoi Club specialty in August, Racine, Wisconsin. In September at the Kenosha Kennel Club show Ioury took his 3rd major for another 3 points. To date he has 13 points.

Winners Dog MBC Specialty August 2005

Ioury was Lorraine's pick puppy from this litter and she wanted Bill and me to have him. I am & will always be forever grateful to Lorraine for this handsome young dog. Sometimes just saying thank you is simply not enough. My goal is to continue with these beautiful lines.

Ioury's parents are Ch Kuskaya's Arak X Ch Starborough Fait Accompli.

Thanks to Barbara Lord for providing many of Ioury's photos.

Ioury and sister Iskra Kalinow won on the same day (6/10/06) at the Lake Minnetonka Kennel Club Show.

Ioury took Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed to finish!

Iskra, owned by Susan Motisi, handled by Amelia Gredys, went Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite for her second major.
